 Facilities
Located at 1500 + meters in the Southern Alps of New
Zealand, Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds offer various
cold weather testing surfaces and facilities for counter
seasonal winter testing from late
June to late August.
- Snow surfaces of varying area and compaction including
snow circles
- Ice surfaces, straightaways and circles
- Flat split u surfaces - ice and heated asphalt
- Split u gradient surfaces - ice and asphalt or concrete
of varying gradients
- Undulating Ride and Handling courses of varying length
between 1000m - 2000m x 6m - 8m.
- Covered split u -
(Ice Tunnel 200m x 20m)- 70m of artificial ice and asphalt.
- Refrigerated containers
- Workshops and offices
- Other tracks – unpaved roads, mud/4WD tracks, dry
asphalt access (public roads)
Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds offers 12 independent
closed “Facilities”. Each facility consists of a combination
of above surfaces.
All facilities are booked / reserved for exclusive use
at a daily rate. Track sharing may be negotiated between
reservation holders and SHPG.
