Tom
has been involved with the New Zealand and Canadian
ski industry for 20 years, including seven years
as Operations Manager for Treble Cone.
He is currently the Chairman of the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground
and owns and operates Ski Industries Ltd supplying equipment and services to
New Zealand ski fields.

George has public and private company experience in a wide range of industry sectors including infrastructure, tourism, news and advertising media, electricity lines networks, fashion and apparel, rural services, financial services, commercial property, port companies and plastics manufacturing.

Michael
is a specialist development lawyer who has been
involved in a number of successful large development
projects throughout New Zealand.
He has also worked for Meridian Energy Ltd as
its Environmental and Property Manager where
he oversaw the environmental management projects.

Tim
is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the
Institute of Directors.
He is Water Infrastructure Development Manager
for Meridian Energy Ltd. Previous roles include
Land Manager, Project Aqua - Land and Finance
Manager, Strategic Asset Manager and Deputy Financial
Controller. He has considerable experience in
large project concept development including,
new business development and financial structuring.
Tim co-chairs the governance board of New Zealand’s
largest hydrogen research project.

- Richard Somerville |

Richard
is a professional company director with extensive
banking experience in New Zealand and Australia.
Until his recent return to live in Wanaka he
was the managing director of SG major investment
bank Hambros Australia.
He was managing director of Lloyds Corporate
Finance in Australia from 1994, and while in
New Zealand he was director of Southpac Corporation,
the investment banking arm of National Bank New
Zealand.
Currently he is the director of three New Zealand
companies and is involved in farming. |

After 3 years of being SHPG’s Operations Manager and latterly a consultant to SHPG, Shaun has moved to a newly created role of General Manager. Shaun will continue to contribute his extensive expertise and skills to the day to day Proving Ground operations plus have a more hands on roll with clients at a more senior level with policy and planning.
Before coming to SHPG in 2005 Shaun’s background included 24 years facility management experience in managing Cardrona Alpine Ski Resort.

Kerry manages the operation of the proving grounds, overseeing snow management, facility use and staff management.
Kerry’s background includes 21 years experience on an Alpine Resort -Mt Ruapehu, operators of Whakapapa and Turoa Ski Areas. specializing in, snow management and maintenance management.

| Judy is the liaison for SHPG. She manages client affairs including bookings/requests and the administration and correspondence relating directly to testing at SHPG. Judy’s background includes 3 years as Office Manager of a Veterinary Clinic and 10 years as Administration Manager of an international ski area.

Manager - Janine Joseph |

| Janine
manages the financial and accounting arena of
SHPG. She also extends her extensive business
management experience to the overall administration
of the proving ground.
Janine’s
background includes management experience
in the ski & tourism industries plus self employment operating a transport venture in Wanaka.
Janine came to us in 2005 following a 5 year
contract as Office Manager of the largest
real estate office in Australasia. |

Preparation & Machine
Maintenance - John Weir |
 |
| John
is a skilled machine operator and during the
testing season he manages the ice preparation
at the proving grounds. Throughout the summer
months, he maintains the heavy machinery and
continues the provision of electricity supply
to the proving ground by overseeing operation
of the generators.
John’s
background includes 5 years working in the
proving ground and 24 years earthmoving experience
for Harliwich Holdings Ltd. |
| Snowmaking
Manager - Barney Hughes |
 |
| Barney
is experienced and skilled in the specific knowledge
and practice of making snow. He manages the snow
making operation. He is also an experienced snow
groomer operator and is senior member of the
snow preparation team at SHPG. During the summer
months he specifically maintains both the groomers
and the snow making system.
Barney’s
background includes 3 years proving ground
- snow making and snow preparation experience
and 15 years ski area plant installation
and maintenance in New Zealand and overseas. |
| Senior Machine
Operator - Steve Preston |
 |
| Steve
is an experienced
grader and loader operator spending his winter
nights maintaining proving ground facilities
and his summer days working as the roading construction
branch supervisor for well-known New Zealand
a company - Fulton and Hogan.

| Field Supervisor
- Mike Bishop |
 |
| Mike
has worked for the proving grounds for 3 years.
Mike is responsible for the supervision of particular
aspects of the day to day field work, including
split µ preparation and workshop utilities such
as firewood and gas heating. You will also see
him operating the forklift at SHPG. During the
summer months Mike supervises field maintenance
and repairs e.g. fencing and signage.
Mike’s
background includes 15 seasons in Pareora
meat works operation and 3 years on the South
Canterbury Catchment Board (hydrology).

Advisor- Graeme Gambold |
 |
| Graeme
is SHPG’s technical advisor, consulting on all
aspects of the proving ground, but specifically
testing.
Graeme is an industry expert in the field of automotive development and climatic
field testing.
He
is a former OEM product development manager
and vehicle dynamisist of 20 years. His experience
in advanced automotive technologies and systems
development is available to you. He is well
qualified to assist you in all aspects of
your test programs at SHPG, or alternatively
can advise or plan a tailored testing regime
for your products or systems in New Zealand.
Value
added Southern Hemisphere testing activities
such as real world accelerated durability,
product confirmation, vehicle evaluation
and test drive programs or media activities
can all be planned, administered or assisted
by SHPG under the expert guidance of our
Chief Engineer. |
